Our unnecessary gratuitous photo this week is of a hot girl with a 6-pack beer belt around her waist. Stare at it long enough and you will start to see a double image representing a 12-Pack.
So here’s a recipe for success: Mix one defensive shutout of the opponent with pinch of winning the turnover battle. Mix in three touchdowns on the first three offensive possessions. Bake for 40 minutes until perfectly done! Wash it all down with a couple cold ones (or a quick hit if you are Fleet, Richie or Mark) and it’s perfect for a fall Sunday morning.breakfast.
The 12 pack started with ball and the wind at their backs (on a pretty breezy day) because we were feeling generous. The Rockets allowed the 12-pack to move the ball a bit before making them turn it over on downs. Chad had several nice catches and scored the first touchdown (XP failed) as Rick picked apart the soft 12-pack coverage. The 12-pack turned it over on their next drive, as Mark R. was the open deep man, hauling in a long INT. Rick again was accurate and efficient leading the next scoring drive which produced a second Chad TD (XP failed).
It was 13-0 at half, but the Rockets were not done, they enjoyed the wind in their face and took the ball to open the second half. More nice catches by the receiving core led to a Steve D. TD (XP failed). The offensive line managed the 12-Pack aggressive rush, and RIck got the ball out quickly to counter the pressure as needed. Richie added a second half pick.
The D-line contained a normally elusive Elvis who did not pull it down and run like he normally would. A few blitzes by Jason mixed in kept him guessing, and Dan added a sack in a key situation.
Rick was outstanding with no turnovers on a windy day and was very accurate, but Chad gets the game ball this week by a hair for the two TD’s that set the tone and his good pass defense during the first half when it mattered.
