Game 8: Rockets 14, Bullsharks 0

27 Oct 2019 by Bob Dickinson

An inadvertent whistle that negated a nice completion from Rick to Chad, and a couple phantom tags on Rick and Jamal caused the Rockets to petition to replace today’s ref’s with the ref in the attached photo. I’m sure she would not blow any calls…(insert inappropriate comment here)…

Anyway, the Rockets took care of business today. A sloppy field and a tough sun kept the Rockets from steamrolling their opponent, but they did more than enough to earn another win and their defense dominated in pitching a shutout. Rick to Chad-Chad-Chad-Chad (nice accurate throws and YAC) resulted in an opening drive touchdown. Extra point Jason. The Rockets offense ate the clock but could not get a second score until partway through the second half, on another nice drive ending in a Chad TD and a Jamal XP. The Rockets defense played a mix of man and zone, and Jason dialed up the occasional blitz to keep the Bullsharks guessing. No turnovers for the Rockets defense today, but they forced several punts and the Bullsharks never threatened nor did they enter the red zone.

Chad earns the game ball today with several nice catches/runs, two touchdowns and shut down defense.

Next week’s doubleheader at 9:00 a.m. (12-Pack) and 10:00 a.m (Pylons) ends the regular season.
